The story

It started with one school in south Trinidad.

Since September 2010

CyberSafeTT.com is the brainchild of Daren Dhoray, a Digital Anthropologist who set out to educate primary and secondary school students, parents and teachers on the benefits, and the very real dangers, of social media and the internet.

It began in September 2010 with sessions for incoming secondary school students receiving their first computers, held in Daren's hometown of south Trinidad. Word travelled. Soon it was whole-school assemblies, then parent evenings, then staff training days.

Around 2012/2013 colleagues from Campus IT Services at The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, were building an outreach initiative of a similar nature. The extended team joined forces to create content and widen the outreach across Trinidad and Tobago.

CyberSafeTT continues to deliver presentations to schools and non-profits voluntarily, supported by organisations including the Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago.

Reaching 15,000+ students across Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada, St. Lucia and Jamaica.

Always voluntary. Never a fee for schools.
