About this course

Cyberbullying is not “just online drama.” In a Trinidad and Tobago school community, it can damage a student’s confidence, safety, attendance, learning, and future. It can also expose a school to serious safeguarding, disciplinary, reputational, and legal risks. This course gives school leaders, teachers, guidance personnel, and student-support staff a practical disciplinary matrix for responding to cyberbullying in a fair, consistent, trauma-informed, and legally sound way. It is designed for local use in Trinidad and Tobago, with attention to the realities of WhatsApp groups, Instagram stories, TikTok reposts, anonymous accounts, AI-edited images, and the speed at which harm spreads in a small island community. The course is not a substitute for legal advice, but it does help schools build a response system that is clear, humane, and enforceable. It emphasizes that discipline should do more than punish. It should stop harm, protect the targeted student, preserve evidence, engage parents or guardians, support rehabilitation, and escalate properly when a matter may involve criminal threats, extortion, hate speech, child sexual abuse material, doxxing, stalking, impersonation, or non-consensual intimate imagery. Throughout the course, the emphasis is on prompt action, documentation, and consistency. You will see a disciplinary matrix that links types of cyberbullying to levels of severity and recommended interventions.
