About this course
Every time you scroll through Facebook, search on Google, enter a WhatsApp group, or shop online, you leave behind a trace. That trace is called your digital footprint — and in Trinidad and Tobago, where social media use is among the highest in the Caribbean, most people have a footprint far larger than they realise. This course will show you exactly what the internet already knows about you, why that matters, and — most importantly — how to shrink it. This is not a technical course. You do not need any background in computers or cybersecurity. What you do need is a willingness to look honestly at your habits and make a few practical changes that could protect your finances, your reputation, and your family.
What you'll be able to do
- Define a digital footprint and identify both your active and passive traces online
- Conduct a privacy audit of your own social media accounts
- Configure privacy settings on WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Gmail
- Recognise how data brokers and AI tools harvest your personal data
