About this course

On Caribbean social media, a lime can turn sour in seconds — a harmless WhatsApp status, an Instagram story, or a comment thread can become a weapon that hurts someone deeply. Cyberbullying is the deliberate, repeated use of technology to frighten, embarrass, threaten, or exclude another person. This course from CyberSafeTT identifies the ten specific types of cyberbullying, gives you Caribbean examples you will recognise, explains why each one is harmful, and hands you a clear response strategy for dealing with each. By the end, you will have the full toolbox you need to protect yourself, protect your friends, and become an Upstander in the digital Trinidad and Tobago everyone deserves.

What you'll be able to do

  • Identify all 10 distinct types of cyberbullying defined by CyberSafeTT.
  • Recognise Caribbean-specific examples of each behaviour.
  • Explain why each type is harmful to the person targeted.
  • Apply a specific response strategy for each of the 10 types.
  • Collect evidence and report incidents through the correct channels.
  • Support others as an active Upstander in your digital community.

I used to accept every follow request. After the workshop I locked down my accounts in one evening and finally understood why it mattered.
