About this course

Trinidad and Tobago's Cyber Crime Bill once defined a cyberbully as someone who uses a computer system repeatedly or continuously to convey information that causes fear, intimidation, distress or harm to another person, or damage to their health, emotional wellbeing, self esteem or reputation. This free CyberSafeTT course unpacks that sentence line by line, then shows what it looks like in a real Trinbagonian WhatsApp group, class chat or comment thread. You will learn where cyberbullying happens, why it hits harder than face to face bullying, how to recognise it in a child who is not talking about it, and the exact steps to document, report and stop it.

What you'll be able to do

  • Define cyberbullying the way local law and schools define it
  • Name the devices, platforms and spaces where it most often happens
  • Explain why anonymity, permanence and audience make it more damaging than traditional bullying
  • Spot the warning signs in a child, sibling or student who has gone quiet
  • Capture evidence, block, report and escalate without making it worse
