About this course

Welcome to Course 2, a friendly guide to staying safe, kind, and smart on the internet. This course is for children ages 9–12, with parent or guardian support. The internet can be exciting. You can learn new skills, play games, watch videos, message friends, and do schoolwork. But the internet also has risks. Some people online may not be honest. Some apps may ask for too much information. Some messages may try to trick you. This course will help you understand those risks in simple language and show you what to do. In Trinidad and Tobago, children use phones, tablets, laptops, and school devices every day. We want children to enjoy the internet while staying safe at home, at school, and in their communities. That means learning how to protect private information, choose strong passwords, spot scams, handle chats wisely, and speak up when something feels wrong. It also means learning kindness, because being safe online is not only about avoiding danger. It is also about respecting others and building a better online world. This course is written for children, but it also includes parent/guardian notes. Those notes help adults guide the child, set family rules, and talk about online safety in a calm and supportive way. The goal is not to scare children. The goal is to help them become confident, careful, and responsible digital citizens. Course Details How to Use This Course Read each lesson slowly. Pause after each one to talk with an adult. Do the activities together if possible. The parent or guardian should check the knowledge questions and discuss the answers. If anything in the course feels confusing, it is okay to stop and ask questions. In fact, asking questions is one of the safest things a child can do online.

I used to accept every follow request. After the workshop I locked down my accounts in one evening and finally understood why it mattered.
